If you’re visiting Britain you will probably be landing at Heathrow and you won’t need to travel far to find places to visit. The airport is centrally located with excellent road and public transport links this means you will find hundreds of interesting days out within 2hrs of the airport.

London

Heathrow has three underground stations with tube trains regularly travelling to and from London. Heathrow Express trains depart for London Paddington station every 15 mins, this is a non-stopping service and trains take just 15 mins to reach Paddington, Heathrow connect trains depart every 30 minutes and stop at stations along the way. Once in London, there are numerous places of interest.

The Tower of London, home to the Crown Jewels, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace are the most popular tourist destinations, London has hundreds of museums most of which offer free entry, in the evenings there are theatres, countless restaurants, bars and clubs. Windsor

The Magna Carta has been used as the basis for civil rights and constitutional law around the World.

Oxford

Home to Oxford University and just over 1hrs drive from Heathrow. Like Windsor Oxford has a castle but it is not inhabited anymore, Oxford Castle was built 1071–73 and is mostly a ruin but still an interesting place to visit. Also in Oxford, you will find the United Kingdoms oldest botanic garden and several museums.

Bicester Village

If shopping is your thing Bicester Village may be the place for you, this outlet shopping centre is the country’s second most popular destination for Chinese tourists. Big name designer brands such as Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Jimmy Choo and Armani have outlets shops in Bicester.

Whipsnade Zoo

Just around the M25 and 45 mins from Heathrow by car, you will find Whipsnade Zoo. Whipsnade claims to be the United Kingdoms biggest zoo with a train, daily events and obviously, they have animals.
