FOR THOSE SNEEKY LITTLE VAMPIRES IN YOUR YARD – BENADRYL!
Benadryl Extra Strength Itch Stopping Gel
Pros: Fast-acting, effective!
Cons: A little runny
Picture this: Midnight. I’m sitting on the deck waiting for the ‘Super Moon’ to ascend over the humongous elm tree next door. I’ve donned a pair of white Nike crew socks, gold-glitter slippers, a white, ankle-length robe, and a floppy beach hat. I look like a cross between Diane Keaton and the Pope. And to think I dressed this way intentionally. . .
Retro about three nights. . .I was out on the same deck, only this time I was barefoot, had on just my nightgown (it was dark, I risked it) and was watching the same moon – minus the ‘Super’ part. After exploring with my binoculars it’s now familiar craters and valley’s, I went back to bed. In the time it took me to say “Now I lay me down to sleep. . .” my feet and ankles felt as if they were on fire! I tried scratching them with the opposite foot, which just seemed to make the itching and burning worse. I spent the next few minutes raking my nails over my feet until I became concerned that might be making matters worse somehow. I tried to think what was in my medicine cabinet for what were clearly insect bites – mosquito, or whatever else creeps around at night looking for blood. I spotted the Benadryl Extra Strength Itch Stopping Gel. I don’t recall the reason I originally purchased this product, but I needed all the ‘Extra Strength’ and ‘Itch Stopping’ benefit it could provide – big time! Within two or three minutes of applying the soothing gel the fiery itching and burning had subsided substantially and within ten minutes I didn’t feel any pain or discomfort at all.
