How To Fill Out Thank You Cards

When are you going to use Thank You Cards? In the world of business, you should be sending at least one per day. Building clientele, networks, and relationships takes work. Everyone appreciates a Thank You card. How do you know what to say? Follow these easy steps

How To Fill Out Thank You Cards

  • Choose a person whom you have recently had contact with (i.e. a new customer, business partner, your advisor, etc.)
  •  Think of how you should address this person? Is this a formal thank you, such as to your boss? Or is this a more warm opening, like to a colleague or friend?
  •  What has this person done? What is it you are thanking them for? It can be anything from “Thank you for meeting with me,” to “I appreciate your assistance with this problem,” or even “Thank you for being a valued business partner for this many years.” The opportunities are endless.
  •  Sign the card. Suggestion: if this is a work “Thank You” don’t end with “Love.” The following are more work appropriate endings: Best Regards, Best Wishes, Sincerely, Thank You.
  •  Once you finish writing your card, seal the envelope and address it. Put a stamp on it and send it. Most people have the intentions of sending letters and cards, but they forget. This step is the second most important step in sending a card.

The most important step in writing a Thank You card is making sure you bought it from Hammond Greeting and Promotion.

Whitney Hammond is President of hammond.com and got his start in the greeting card business at the ripe old age of eight, selling holiday cards off the back of Boys’ Life magazine to friends and family. The little tike was hoping to sell enough cards to qualify for the neat prizes featured on the magazine’s back cover.
