Increase Intensity In Your Workout Routine
For you to get the desired results in any kind of training, you must do more than what you did the other day. This means you should focus on increasing the frequency of your training, adding more time to your regular time that is if you used to workout for maybe 30 minutes why not try 45 minutes instead? In short, you should increase your overload.
Adding more weight to your normal weight, increasing the intensity of your exercise will all go a long way in achieving your goal as a trainer. It doesn’t matter if you are training for your upcoming tournament or just keeping fit. Doing this will help your body adapt and you are bound to see results.
Give Your Body Time To Recover
You have increased your intensity but if you don’t give your body time to recover, you will have undesired results. Exercise can cause the breakdown of tissues in the body. Give yourself a break of at least two to three days after intense workout sessions. This will help your body rebuild. This is especially true if you are training to gain muscle. Eating well, resting and getting plenty of sleep during this time could have a positive outcome in your training.
Be Specific In Your Training
This is where most people go wrong. Learn to teach your body to adjust to a specific type of exercise according to your needs and sports. If you are training to build muscle, high bouts of cardiovascular exercises will not do you well. Instead focus on progressive weight lifting since it is bound to give you the results you desire. This is also true if you are a runner. Spending time lifting weights will not give you the resistance and strength you need when you are out there in your sport. Being specific will help your body adapt to your needs and chances of you getting the desired results are high.
Be Consistent In Your Training
You have been working out for maybe a year or so and you are satisfied with your results. You decide to take a break because you have the body you have been looking for. Trust me, when it comes to exercise and fitness, it never works that way. We cant store fitness. Its reversible. Its a give and take thing. A few weeks wont do you any harm, but months of no training can have a negative impact on all your training efforts. Be sure to be consistent in your training routine to keep your body active and fit.
Vary Your Training Routine
Try to vary your training. The level of training to just keep fit should be very different from training for a particular reason, maybe an upcoming match or tournament. Learning to vary your training routine will keep you off from over training.
